My why

The inability to provide sessions over the lockdowns allowed me to take a step back and see what clients really needed to ensure long term success.

They didn’t need someone in the gym counting their reps and making sure they did their sessions. They needed education so that they had the tools and knowledge in place to see long term success.

They needed support for when life gets in the way so that they got back on track as quickly as possible and to have someone to be accountable to so they could stay consistent.

That’s what birthed the unleash the real you programme we have today.

That’s why we’ve been able to help 100s of people over the last few years and looking to exponentially increase the amount of lives we change year on year.

The programme is ever evolving as every client we train is an opportunity to improve the process for the next.

Now I’m confident that every person who completes the programme leaves not only transforming their mind and body but have the tools and knowledge to continue to see life long success.

I qualified as a personal trainer in December 2015. From there I started working at a lifestyle fitness gym training clients 1-2-1.

I say training, compared to what I do now it’s a bit embarrassing but you have to start somewhere.

After a couple years I moved to JD gyms. This is where I really started to become a coach.

Grasping a better understanding of training principles and biomechanics to make sure my clients didn’t just get strong but also moved well and pain free.

There was still something missing though.

Clients were getting results but they weren’t completely transformative and I wasn’t confident that if they left me they’d continue to progress.

Right before lockdowns were announced in March 2020 I hired a business mentor as I wanted to have the option of moving part of my coaching online as it offered more options to move when I was ready to.

Little did I know that this would completely transform my coaching service.

Do you need accountability?

my story

Through my teens I was very introverted.

I was massively overweight and hardly spoke, to the point that I was asked if I spoke English on a number of occasions.

Living in Bermuda there was always times at the beach and I would keep my shirt on because I didn’t want anyone to see my body. I used to make all sorts of random excuses for the reason why.

Finding pictures of me at that age is really difficult as I used to actively avoid being in them. I wanted to be more confident and I wanted people to like me so I thought changing how I looked would help.

I watched a lot of dragon ball z and power rangers so those were the physiques I aspired to. I bought fitness magazines like Muscle & Fitness, Flex and Mens Health that got me started in the right direction.

As a result I started getting involved in sports, I started with boxing and played rugby when I started A-Levels.

This all started me on the path that has led me to where I am today.

The confidence that grew from building muscle and taking control of my physique allowed me to try more things.

I went to uni and studied biochemistry at UCL, which he a very solitary course that didn’t suit the new more extroverted version of myself.

I tried a few sales jobs but never found that any of them fit all the while the idea of being a coach was in the back of my head.

After a few failed job roles I finally decided to take the plunge and got my personal training qualification.

I can honestly say it was the best decision I could have made.

Over the years I’ve been able to fully appreciate the effect of what I do has on other people’s lives same as how changing my physique changed my life.

I’ve had clients come to me unable to complete a full session due to gym anxiety to wearing stringer vest and going for job opportunities - they never would have dreamed of going for before.

There is no greater reward than having people put their trust in me to help them change their physique and them to realise the ripple effect it has on every other aspect of their life.

I never thought I could achieve as much as I have working with Mike. I have worked with in person trainers before as well as other online coaches and never managed to achieve anywhere near what I have with Mike.

I wouldn’t really call Mike an online coach as he offers so much more than training and nutrition plans. He’s more like an educator and occasional therapist haha.
